2011/12 season
Senior Coaching Team
Andy Boyes (Head Coach), Dave Craddock, Jon Ingarfield, Richard Rowledge and Dave Saunders.
2011/12 First XV Captain
The Club is pleased to announce the re-election of Russell Smith to Club & First XV Captain. Russ led the team to runner-up spot in Hampshire One last season, losing the play-off to Surrey One runners-up Old Blues RFC. Russ will be supported again by Vice-Captain Paul Fudio, who hopefully will be recovered from a bad ankle injury in time to start the season.
2011/12 Second XV Captain
Adam Blyth steps down as Captain, having got the Second XV to third spot in Merit Table Two, and hopefully promotion to Table One when the season starts. He is replaced by James Hixon-Broad, who hopes the move up in playing standard will benefit the whole Club.
2011/12 Third XV Captain
The success of the Social XV last season has prompted the players to request Merit Table action. This will give the players a proper fixture list, but will need them to give more commitment to continuing Captain John Harris.

Eastleigh 50-0 Isle of Wight RFC
18th Feb 2012
For the first time in the Club’s history and in strong winds and driving rain, Eastleigh’s 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams secured home wins at the Bishopstoke ground. In front of their sponsors, Pipestock, Eastleigh’s 1st XV overcame an in form Isle of Wight to record their 16th victory of the season beating them 50-0. Eastleigh delivered a much improved clinical performance scoring at nearly every opportunity, Isle of Wight only entered the Eastleigh 22m on two occasions. The scoring was opened in the 13th minute with a try by scrum half, Sean Hayes from a set piece move off the back of a scrum. Phil Baldwin converted to make the score 7-0. A well worked backs move from a penalty allowed birthday boy and Pipestock Man of the Match, Pete Noonan to go under the posts untouched. The conversion by Phil Baldwin took the score to 14-0. In the 35th minute the Isle of Wight number 7 was sent to the sin bin for hands in the ruck. Eastleigh capitalised with Phil Baldwin converting his own try to make the score 21-0 at half time. The bonus point was secured 5 minutes into the second half with winger Ash Holland scoring following some excellent interplay between forwards and backs. Phil Baldwin converted to make the score to 28-0. With the first touch of the ball following a substitution, Jack Curtis scored an unconverted try with another well worked backs move. At the 70 minute mark Isle of Wight received their second yellow card of the day with their number 10 being sin binned for making a tackle without using his arms. Again, Eastleigh made it count with two trys coming from forwards Paul Fudio and Paul Taylor, neither were converted so the score was 43-0. With one final move from the backs, full back Chris Cove broke through to score a try and Phil Baldwin converted to bring up the half century. Coach Andy Boyes said 'We have been working hard on becoming more clinical and structured in our game and I'm pleased to say the boys delivered it today. The forwards built a strong platform and the backs delivered the trys. We're building week by week for what we know will be hard title deciding month in March. I'm especially pleased that our defence remains strong, only conceding 6 points in six games. In the absence of Captain Russ Smith, fellow second row Adam Kidd lead the team extremely well in what was a tense and physical encounter at times. I must also comment on how well the game was referred by Dave Martin who allowed us to play rugby.' View match photos
Lytchett Minster RFC 3-50 Eastleigh
11th Feb 2012
Eastleigh remain top of league following a 50-3, 8 try victory over Lytchett Minster. Eastleigh dominated the game throughout with Lytchett Minster only entering Eastleigh's 22 on three occasions. Lytchett Minster fought hard at the breakdown but Eastleigh's superior lineout and set piece was too much for them to handle. Eastleigh pressurised Lytchett Minster from the kick off and within three minutes were awarded a penalty try following a deliberate offside during a pushover try. Scrum half, Jon Lynch converted to make it 7-0. After some sustained pressure and two other try scoring opportunities being missed, Ash Holland went over in the corner to make the score 12-0. At the 25 minute mark Eastleigh gave away a penalty at the breakdown allowing Lytchett Minster to put their only points on the score board. After some good attacking rugby and fast recycling at the breakdown, second row Adam Kidd scored a try which was converted by Jon Lynch to take the score to 19-3. The 4th try and bonus point was secured when flanker Dave Craddock, Pipestock’s Man of the Match, scored shortly before half time. Jon Lynch converted to make the half time score 26-3. After half time Eastleigh made some positional changes and shortly after flanker Dave Craddock, now playing in the centre scored his second try of the day. Full back, Chris Cove converted to make the score 33-3. Eastleigh followed up with an unconverted push over try by Paul Fudio. Ash Holland then scored his second try of the day, his 11th league try in 9 games. Chris Cove converted to take the scored to 45-3. The final try of the game was scored by prop Paul Taylor. Coach Andy Boyes said 'It wasn't our best performance but given the postponement last week and being limited to only two hours training in the last two weeks, I'm more than happy with our victory.'
